The Forget-Me-Not Resource Center at the Flora Public Library includes books, DVD’s, and other resources that anyone, regardless of having a library card, can check out. The materials cover topics on caring for a person with Alzheimer’s or related dementia, understanding dementia, biographies of people who have Alzheimer’s disease, educational books on brain health, activities to do with a person with Alzheimer’s, DVDs that are soothing and relaxing, educational and many others. LIBRARY TO HOST FIRST AUTHORS BOOK FAIR
Flora Public Library invites local authors to participate in the 2017 Local Authors Book Fair! The Authors Book Fair will be Saturday, May 20, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm, with set-up beginning at 9:00 am. There is no fee for participation. Each author will be provided with a 6 or 8 foot table and two chairs. Tables will be available in the community room and main library. Light refreshments will be served.
Registration forms are now available for authors who wish to sign up. Please stop by the library or email email@example.com to obtain a form. Registration deadline is April 15, 2017, at 3:00 pm. For more information, call the library at (618) 662-6553.
LIBRARY TO HOST PROGRAM THIRD AND FINAL CLASS ON ESSENTIAL OILS
The Flora Public Library will be host the final essential oils class with Alicia Dalton, doTERRA Wellness Advocate. starting on Saturday, April 29th at 1pm. This “Safer, Cleaner Home” class will show you how to use essential oils to clean your home without the harsh chemicals. The public is welcome. Thank you.
LIBRARY TO HOST PROGRAM SERIES ON ESSENTIAL OILS
The Flora Public Library will be hosting a series of classes about essential oils starting on Saturday, February 25th at 1pm. These classes will be presented by Alicia Dalton, doTERRA Wellness Advocate. The three sessions will cover everything from how to safely use the oils to making over your cleaning routine to reduce toxins.
The first session will be “Essential Oils 101” class on Saturday, February 25th at 1pm. This class will cover safety and basic oil uses and oils will be available to experience first hand.
The second session will be “Essential Oils Class for Healthy, Happy Kids” on Saturday, March 25,th at 1pm. This class will explain how essential oils can benefit your entire family and how to safely use them with your children.
The final class in the series on essential oils will be on Saturday, April 29th at 1pm. This “Safer, Cleaner Home” class will show you how to use essential oils to clean your home without the harsh chemicals.
Flora Garden Club Unit #13 presented a plaque in memory of Bernadine Rankin, a founding member, to Donna Corry, Library Director and the library board members on November 14th. The plaque will be displayed at the library and was presented by Shirley Conard and other Unit #13 members. The presentation was also attended by Bernadine’s sister, Jane Gilliland and her daughter-in-law, Jane. (pictured above)
