The Friends of the Flora Public Library, organized in March 1993, are a group of enthusiastic supporters united by a common concern for the well-being of the Flora Public Library. The Friends are a devoted organization that promotes the library as a cultural, educational and recreational asset to the community.

The Friends are dedicated to:

  •  Promoting literacy education and cultural opportunities to all individuals
and age levels in the greater Flora area.
  • Developing an expanded awareness of library resources and services
available to the community and to promote broader community support for
      the Flora Public Library.
  • Stimulating bequests and gifts of desirable books and related materials for
the benefit of the Flora Public Library.
  • Offering volunteer opportunities to Friends of the Library.
  • Supporting adequate financial funding for the Flora Public Library.

The Friends’ efforts include:

  •  Sponsoring special events.
  •  Raising funds for library service improvements and supplementing
the library’s budget for purchasing books and other reading
