Flora Public Library Awarded Back to Books Grant!
Flora Public Library is pleased to announce the addition of their new Back to Books – MP3 Audiobook Collection. A grant was awarded to the library in the amount of $4,900. The collection includes 165 titles.
The Library’s plan to establish an MP3 audiobook collection that benefits all present and future patrons have been realized. Grand funds allowed them to replace some of their existing outdated books on CD. 165 titles have been added to the library!
Popular and bestselling MP3 audiobooks were selected based on recommended titles in fiction, non-fiction, and biographies. Emphasis placed on fiction, bestsellers, and popular authors.
Books on MP3 will be promoted with priority to seniors as well as all other adult patrons. The MP3 format was chosen to accommodate patrons who have CD capability and will find the audio component appealing.
To easily find MP3 audiobooks:
- Visit the library’s website https://florapubliclibrary.org.
- Click on the Flora Public Library’s Online Catalog.
- Click on the “Quick Library Search” box, then type the author’s name or title.
- Next, choose “My Library” from the Limit pull-down menu, and click Search.
- Then, check “Audiobook on CD” in the box at the left.
- Finally, click on the title to check availability or place a hold.
Funding for this Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant is provided to the Illinois State Library/Secretary of State, by the U.S. Insitute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), through the Grants to the State Libraries Administrative Agencies program.
